A couple of weeks ago, I noticed some serious new excavations in a hedgerow quite close to my house. I have been keeping an eye on the area, as it is on a route I walk quite regularly. It started with just 2 holes, but a lot of soil displaced. This has now been extended to 5 holes and there was only one creature who would shift that amount of soil in such a short period of time.
There was only one way to be sure… to set the Bushnell there for a few nights…
It is going to be great to have a sett so near! Why, though, have they suddenly decided to build here? I think some nearby major building works have possibly disturbed them and they have sought to find a quieter, new location. Time will tell, but you can be sure I will be watching and monitoring this site very closely!
