I have been meaning to spend a bit of time photographing the birds from my hub and I collected some lovely berry-laden twigs to place here as perches. Today started rather dull and misty, but soon the cloud started to lift and the light was just perfect! With the feeders full, there were lots of visitors to the feeders. It was just a matter of time, waiting for them to land in the right place!
I was lucky enough to have about an hour of lovely light and was treated to some posing blackbirds, blue tits, female blackcap and robins.
These images are on my Flickr account HERE
I was also treated to something else quite special. … I caught sight of a buzzard in a tree quite a way from my hub. As I looked at it through my zoom lens, I could see something on its wing. A few minutes later, it landed on post on the field opposite my hub! I fired off quite a few shots before it flew off again. As you can see, it was no ordinary buzzard! it had two huge wing tags on. These both had a number 7 on them… a pink one of its right wing and a green one on its left wing.
I submitted this to the BTO and I am hoping I will soon find out where this buzzard was tagged.
It is such a pleasure to spend time, in my own garden, photographing the wildlife right here!
